Avs vs. New York Rangers

We don't see a whole lot of Eastern teams come to the Pepsi Center, so when my boss offered me Avs vs. Rangers tickets, among others, I knew I had to pick them! I took Paul to his first ever Hockey game on Dec. 21st. Though my Joey was out, the other guys came through and Hejduk, Wolski and my other man, Svatos, helped the Avs to a win. I really wish we'd quit losing some of our best guys to injury and surgery!! The game must go on!

Last minute surprise

My boss offered me tickets for last night's game at 3 p.m. yesterday. I got on the phone to Jim and he headed down. We had dinner at Brooklyn's and then sat Club Level for the game. I've now sat in all 3 levels this season, and have determined that there is simply no bad seat from which to watch an Avs game! Brad and his wife, Sarah, also came. I work with Brad, and he'd never been to an Avs game before. I was glad they won for a change!

Super Bowl XLI

YAY Indianapolis Colts!!!




As someone who's life began in Indiana, I am very pleased that the Colts have won the Super Bowl! Way to go Colts!!!

Even I, who have only been following hockey for just under 6 years, and at that, only pay most attention to the Avs, understand just how monumental this man is to the game. I knew his name long before I knew why he is so great. I was so psyched to be at this game!!

This is the second time I've been able to see these two teams face off this year - and they've won both times!! This time I got to share it with my boyfriend Jim, and one of my best friends Rich. Fun!!

Super Joe!!!

Even though they did not win, Joe is still awesome! And I have a new favorite...Tyler Arnason. Pretty cool guy. I look forward to seeing him play some more. Jim and I were almost able to go to the game tonight. I'm not sure if I'm glad we didn't go or not.........

CU vs. Baylor

My friend Carrie called me at the crack of doom this morning (8:45...) and informed me that she had aquired 6 tickets for the CU game today. I decided that it would be fun to go, and I certainly don't see Carrie enough these days, considering I work about 5 minutes from her house. So off I went to meet her at her place in Henderson. Apparently the 6 tickets were split, 3 in two different sections. For the 1st half of the game we (Carrie, her bf Sean and I) sat facing West, 30 rows up from the field.


And the 2nd half of the game, we sat facing East about 10 rows from the top of the stadium! :) Both sections and views were fabulous, and the weather could not have been better! The clouds would roll over every now and then, blocking the sun from beating down on us, and even when the sun was out, it wasn't unbearably hot.

Unfortunately, CU lost in triple OT - 34-31. But according to the guys sitting behind us, they beat their highest score for the season!! :) Another great Saturday. Thanks, Carrie!!

It's that time again!!!

Football season. Two words that tend to strike fear in the hearts of many wives, girlfriends and significant others. I, on the other hand, have found that this season brings out my competitive side!! My friend Jenn invited me to join her Yahoo Pick'em team last season. After missing the first 2 weeks and finding myself in dead last I decided it was time to take action. I soon joined the masses of football addicts across the U.S. This doesn't mean that I sat in front of the TV from mid-morning Sunday 'til late in the evening, or even caught the Monday night game each week. Oh no...I chose a different route.

You see, I guess I can be considered more of a "score" addict than an addict of the sport itself. I would study scores each week, even creating an Excel spreadsheet to track trends. Sites like HBO's Inside the NFL and of course Yahoo's "experts" would, in several cases, help me to decide which teams to pick each week. Shockingly, some of my highest scores came on the weeks when I had studied what all the experts said, and yet chosen according to my gut. I ended the season ranked 2nd out of 6 or 7, maybe 8. A satisfying journey, it was...

So it has begun again... Jenn has started another league and of course my competitive side is ready to go! Though my first week left much to be desired (7/16 correct...) I am confident that as happened last season, I will start from small beginnings and rise to great accomplishment!

Another, more exciting season for me, is on the horizon as well. That, of course, is HOCKEY!!! So Jenn, why haven't I received an email for your fantasy hockey league yet?!?! Ahhh...months of fun and competition to come! Let the games begin!!
