My Personal Trainer

With any luck at all this man will motivate (read *kick*) my butt in to shape this summer. Unfortunately, he can be pretty counter-productive as he also likes to take me out for ice cream!! Hmmm... Oh well! Who am I to question the practices of a triathlete?!

We did 3.1 miles along the Poudre Valley trail this afternoon, and I actually did have a nice time. I think I'm going to like my new K2 skates!! I'm off to stretch!

The Day After

I feel like I should be doing something to help, rather than taking pictures. Unfortunately, they don't want any outsiders in Windsor right now, and I take pictures, so that's what I'm doing. My friend who lives there says there are hundreds of people helping out already. I guess that's good?!

The cat carriers are out again. I just moved them aside last night. There have been more tornadoes spotted this afternoon, one 11 miles East of Greeley. Thankfully it was moving North and hopefully not toward any more communities. I don't think it ever really hit me before how easy it is to distance myself from that kind of destruction when I'm in Evans and it hits Holly or other CO towns. Then it hits just minutes from my home and I'm shocked! Mother Nature sure plays some cruel tricks sometimes...and she seems to be pretty upset with the whole world these days! Here are pictures from my drive home today, though the sun is peeking out as I'm typing this.

I've got the cat carriers/food ready to hide out in Shell and Rich's basement if it comes to that... The most recent report placed a tornado just NE of Greeley. On my way home I saw several HUGE trees uprooted where normally I look to see baby moo-moos grazing. A neighbor across the street was on his porch and said if the tornado that hit Windsor hadn't shifted West after going through Gilcrest, it would have come straight for us. So scary...

Please keep Northern Colorado and Wyoming in your prayers...

Happy Mother's Day

I hope all you Moms out there had a wonderful Mother's Day with your family. It was really nice having my whole family here for the weekend and getting to spend that special day with my Mom!

My parents and I attended the Annual Pancake Breakfast at the Evans Fire Department Saturday morning, and then checked out their "Fanta-Suite" at the Heritage Inn in Evans.
