Lunch

Last week Sebastian and I drove down to Westminster to have lunch with my Mom, Sister and Niece. It was great to see them even if just for a short time. It was also good practice driving with sleep deprivation!! Hmmm...going back to work in a couple weeks will be interesting!
Sebastian slept in his carseat while we had lunch. Grandma couldn't wait to take him out and wake him up!

He loves "taco" tongue! We can almost always get him to smile when we role our tongues at him. That's what Auntie Kristi and Cousin Kassidy were doing here...

Greeley Baby Shower

Shell planned my first Baby Shower. Though she gave me hints every now and then as to the food and decorations, she kept the theme a surprise right down to making me close my eyes as I came through the doors of the clubhouse. (I may or may not post the video that Jim took of me walking in with my eyes shut!) She chose a Baby Pooh and Friends theme that was just adorable! It was obvious that lots of time and effort went in to everything, even if I hadn't been on the other end of several phone calls during the process! I was so surprised and happy to see all of my guests. Jim had gone down before it started to see if he could lend a hand and ended up staying through the shower to visit with his family who'd mostly come from the Denver area. My Dad played photographer and I'm sure did an amazing job, though I haven't seen his pics yet. I had a really great time and feel so blessed to have a friend like Shell who is able to overcome the tremendous loss she's had in her life and still throw an absolutely fabulous Baby Shower!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had Thanksgiving in Evans this year. Most of my family (Michelle couldn't make it) came up from Pueblo and Jim's family trekked across town. It was great having everyone together for our big news. We waited until everyone was present to announce that we're having a boy! I'm kinda surprised I didn't get any good pictures of all the wonderful food. I did, however, get a great family picture in just one try! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your families!!

My Changing World...

On August 15th my and Jim's life changed forever. We found out we are expecting a baby!! Today was my (our?) first OB appointment. The Ultrasound tech and Dr. both said everything looks great! We saw the spine (baby had it's back to us) and she also pointed out arms and legs, though I don't know how she knew that's what they were. We got to hear the heartbeat and baby moving around like a maniac! I am due in early April and will be 12 weeks this Thursday. So exciting!!! I'm really looking forward to being a mom and can't wait for all the ups and downs of parenthood. I hope being an Aunt for the past 18 years has given me a good head start! :-)



I will scan the Ultrasound picture when I am in Pueblo this weekend for the Bell Game. Go Bulldogs!!

Kassidy's 7th Birthday

Aunt Amanda was a couple weeks late this year, but when we were down to Pueblo last, she got her gifts. We also got to see Michelle's new puppy Smokey and the chickens who have grown so much!

July happenings

While I would have loved to visit Costa Rica as my mom, sister and I had been planning since around February, it's probably for the best that things didn't work out like we thought they were going to. At least now I have my passport updated and can save for another out-of-country trip! And I got to spend some quality time with my sister and nieces during the days I would have been away. They always come up for a week or so during the summer to hang out at the pool and a little with me...but I am usually working during the day and only get to see them when I come home. This time I actually got to go to the pool and do some other things with them, and both my parents joined us for the weekend after my mom returned from a Kindergarten conference in Vegas. I had a great time with everyone and loved having them around!

Happy 4th of July!

After sleeping in and watching License to Wed, I headed over to Linda's to spend time with my Greeley family. Shell and Rich had brought their Wii and all the dogs were present. We had fun playing 4-person tennis; John and I actually beat Rich and Katie once!! We also got in some bowling and golfing before heading home for naps!! Shell and Rich...awwww...

Doubly Special Day!

Sunday the 15th was not only Father's Day, but also my parent's 40th Anniversary. I'm so happy for them!! We celebrated by having lunch at Texas Roadhouse and hanging out at their house while the kids played in the pool. Very relaxing and nice!!

It's that time of year again. Dad put up the pool over the weekend and we had a cookout while the girls played in the water. They had a blast even though it was cold!!

I swear just yesterday my niece was 3 and dancing around the coffee table while I video recorded a documentary for my 9th grade Social Studies class. And now, not only have I been out of High School for 11 years, but she too has graduated from the same High School. The fact that time seems to disappear more and more quickly the older I get just never ceases to amaze me!
