Vintage Aero Flying Museum - July 19th

Anyone who knows my dad knows that he LOVES anything having to do with planes and flying. He looked up this museum online and thought it would be something fun to do. He was right! This was actually a really great museum out in the middle of nowhere, East of Ft. Lupton.

Demolition Derby

The Greeley Stampede lasted 2 days longer than usual this year. They saved the Demolition Derby to close out the season Sunday afternoon. I hadn't been to one since the summer of '98 so when Jim suggested we go, I was all for it. There was an hour delay due to a storm that rolled through right before it was supposed to start, but then the muddy fun began!

Tennis

I am far better at Wii Tennis than I EVER have been at the real thing. AND I get a decent workout playing the game. Katie, however, gets an even better workout. Rich just tries to stay out the way of flailing limbs! See my video blog for the action shots...

Sunset at the Drive In

The Mesa Drive-In opened for the season last weekend. My Mom, Sylvia and I saw Sex and the City, and What Happens in Vegas. They were both decent movies. When we went to turn the car on to leave at 2 in the morning, it didn't start. Dad had to come save us, and of course helped out another couple waiting for roadside assistance!

Bishop Castle

I guess I'm going a little out of order right now. Paul and I went to Bishop Castle the Sunday before Christmas. It was a nice, sunny day in Pueblo, and FREEZING in San Isabel. We only stayed for a half hour or so before I couldn't feel my feet anymore.

Electra Critters

We went to the Pueblo Zoo in the very cold weather to look at very cute lights! It was a great night. Here is Paul giving himself bunny ears next to the bunny... My Christmas light pictures didn't turn out too well!

Poker in Pueblo

After having a Thanksgiving meal with Paul's family on the 24th, we pulled out the games. First it was Apples to Apples, and then his dad joined us for some poker. They all had to teach me, of course I was the first one out, and it was really fun seeing all the competition between them!

Way FM Concert

Featuring Building 429 and Aaron Shust. Paul and I really enjoyed Building 429. Aaron was good, just unfortunately not as great as I thought he'd be!! Paul did love his bass guitarist though! He's in the red in the second picture. It was a fun night!! Definitely worthy of my 100th post!!

Manitou Springs

I planned a big surprise weekend for Paul's birthday on the 28th. I booked a room in Manitou Springs, one of his favorite places, and made reservations for a Murder Mystery Dinner at the Briarhurst Manor. Now, Paul is an actor at heart, and Halloween is his favorite holiday. I was way excited to find that dinner at the Briarhurst because I knew it would be right up his alley!! Then I got with his sister and invited her and the rest of the fam to come up and spend some time with us while we were down that way. She and their mom came up and went to the Emma Crawford parade and coffin races with us, had some lunch, shopped/ate our way around town a bit, and then headed back down to Pueblo. Paul was way surprised to see them Saturday morning!! We had a great weekend away and have chatted about making it a tradition to visit Manitou at Halloween-time from now on!

Beulah Scrapbooking Retreat

I love scrapbooking getaways and I usually get to enjoy them twice a year, thanks very much to my mom. We had been going to the Hideaway in Black Forrest, but this time decided to try some place new. We stayed at a nice little B&B in Beulah and had a great time. Here are some pictures of the wildlife and snow!!

Paul's mom and sister came up north to go to the Scottish/Irish Festival in Estes Park with us on September 8th. We got there pretty late, but still enjoyed looking around at everything and listening to the drum corps and bag pipes. It was a great day weather wise and I had a lot of fun hanging out with my favorite man and his family.

SOOO Exciting!!!

A First!

I went to the movies by myself today. I'd never done that before. I've always been a little shy to walk up to the ticket booth and say "One for ____, please". But today, I did, and those of you who know me know exactly what I saw!! I'd been planning to go on Saturday, and then again on Sunday, but after painting both days, I just didn't feel up to it. So I got up today and went to the first show. It was great!!! How can anyone not like a movie with MULTIPLE Johnnies!! And I must say, though noone will EVER have my heart as Johnny does, that Orlando was pretty darn good lookin' toward the end as well. I have to admit I was a little worried when I saw how long the movie was. And yet, for me at least, it did not seem near as long as I thought it would! I must have been really captivated by my man. :)

Now I'm home, and I have chores to do. Don't those ever end?? I suppose if you're well off enough to have someone do the work for you it ends eventually. Unfortunately, I am not. And so my Dyson beckons, along with my washer and dryer. Hope you all have/had a fabulous Memorial Day!

Vegas!!!

To celebrate Jim's 30th Birthday, and to visit my friend Jenn who is living in Vegas while working a 3 month clinical for school, we took off on the 1st to spend some time in Sin City. First, our plane (which we took out of Ft. Collins on Allegiant) was delayed about 2 hours. The reason? Someone had tried to land without landing gear. Fun! Luckily, I don't think anyone was hurt, and we just had to wait for our plane to get back up North from it's unexpected visit to the Springs. The flight, once it left, was fine. I let Jim have the window seat, and I slept most of the way. Once in Vegas, we started the siteseeing right away!

We saw the Dolphin habitat at the Mirage, the Second City comedy show at the Flamingo, and the Titanic exhibit at the Tropicana. Jim hit the jackpot Sat. morning while Jenn and I were sleeping. We also got to see an old friend of Jenn's and mine for dinner Sat. night. It was a great trip, even though I ended up with Jenn's cold and we had to spend over 6 hours at McCarran before flying home due to a computer malfunction at Allegiant (can we say no more Allegiant??) Next stop for me - Florida!!
