Happy Mother's Day!!

I know I'm behind...Hopefully soon I'll get to post pictures of our precious new addition! For now, I hope all of the wonderful moms out there have a fabulous day!

One good thing to come of my family getting excited about baby's arrival and driving up to wait with me was that we got to spend Easter together for the first time in many years! Shell's mom had Kassidy over to help dye Easter eggs Saturday night and Shell surprised her with a bag of Easter goodies. On Sunday, Jim's parents hosted a fabulous Easter lunch.

The Waiting Game...

In anticipation of the arrival of a baby, my Mom, Dad, Sister and youngest niece drove up to Evans Wed. night. We had an encouraging visit with the Dr. on Tuesday and I had called to let everyone know to be on alert. My Dr. had said that after scraping the membranes, women typically go into labor within 1-2 days. I was also 3-4 centimeters dilated. Unfortunately, after 4 days of waiting (now 5,) there is still no baby. Now I'm not sure when or if my Dr. will decide to induce. I'm hoping that, as she mentioned at an appt. a few weeks back, she won't let me go more than a week over my due date. However, she seems to change her mind pretty frequently. We know that the baby is already over 8 lbs. I would prefer not to let him get much bigger!!

I've now been off work for 1 week, and am starting another. It's very frustrating being at home without a baby! Every day he doesn't come is another I don't get to spend with him when I have to go back to work. NOT a great thought to couple with pregnant emotions... I am not a fan of this waiting game.

Puzzle Mania

The idea for doing a puzzle and having it framed came from Jim's sister & brother-in-law who have a huge, beautiful, framed Thomas Kinkade puzzle in their bedroom. While at Border's on St. Patrick's Day, Jim got to looking at the puzzle section. We found one of a 4-part "Limited Edition" Disney collection and decided to get it for the nursery. It was a scene from Jungle Book. Then while at Babies R Us we found 2 more of the series; a scene from Peter Pan and one from Winnie the Pooh. After looking almost everywhere else we finally found the last in the series at Walmart. Mickey and Minnie in what looks to be somewhere in Italy finished our collection. We've spent the last few weeks putting those together, and also just finished a glow in the dark puzzle for somewhere else in the house. In all, we've done 5 1,000 piece puzzles in less than 3 weeks. It's been a fun activity to do together. Now I just need to have them all framed!!

Nesting?!?

I've heard a lot about how pregnant women can go through a "nesting" period shortly before they give birth. 4 weeks to my due date and I'm still waiting for that urge! While it frustrates me that my house is not clean and organized and the nursery is not put together, all I really ever feel like doing when I get home from work is sitting and doing nothing. I really hope this whole nesting thing will kick in soon!! Either that or I may have to hire a cleaning service...

Greeley Baby Shower

Shell planned my first Baby Shower. Though she gave me hints every now and then as to the food and decorations, she kept the theme a surprise right down to making me close my eyes as I came through the doors of the clubhouse. (I may or may not post the video that Jim took of me walking in with my eyes shut!) She chose a Baby Pooh and Friends theme that was just adorable! It was obvious that lots of time and effort went in to everything, even if I hadn't been on the other end of several phone calls during the process! I was so surprised and happy to see all of my guests. Jim had gone down before it started to see if he could lend a hand and ended up staying through the shower to visit with his family who'd mostly come from the Denver area. My Dad played photographer and I'm sure did an amazing job, though I haven't seen his pics yet. I had a really great time and feel so blessed to have a friend like Shell who is able to overcome the tremendous loss she's had in her life and still throw an absolutely fabulous Baby Shower!
