"The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch

I started reading this book today, after watching the ABC special with Diane Sawyer a few weeks ago. My first attempt at buying the book that Saturday failed, as it was out of stock. This man is truly inspiring and I've been really touched by his outlook on life, despite the grim reality he has had to face the past 2 years. A trip to the Vet

Zackary just hasn't been himself for a little over a week now. He's had a slight limp and has not been NEARLY as talkative as the part-Siamese he usually is. While he's still been eating, he is sleeping a lot more and not playing much. And the real kicker is that instead of racing to Mahleah's bowl after she's done eating and their let out of the room, he's been staying lying down on the floor in the cat room. So not himself!!! We went to the Vet today. His temp. was normal and the Dr. couldn't find anything wrong. We got a pain med to cover his limp, and he's already doing a little better. Hopefully he'll be back to his old self soon!!

Why do I love this movie?!?!

Since purchasing it on February 28th, I've watched it at least 3 times, and have wanted to watch it more... After watching it through Netflix more than a year ago, and passing it by in the store several times, why does it now speak to me like I really don't think any other movie has?!?! I have seriously pondered why it has grabbed me and does not want to let go. Here are a few reasons I've come up with for why it might appeal to me so entirely, none of which are very deep and meaningful -

1. I've been the victim of unrequited love, and have successfully lived through it

2. Part of the movie takes place in a wintery Surrey, England, one of my ideal fantasy settings

3. I love that the women have the freedom and means to pick up and fly halfway across the world without a second thought, and often wish I could do the same

4. I just love those accents!

What do you do???

In the past few days, I've been faced with that question. My best friend in the world, my sister of the heart, the person I run to whenever my world is spiraling out of control, is faced now with her own spiraling universe. What can I do???
